We run a one-day course for Brompton owners covering basic skills for general bike maintenance, as well as those special skills needed for looking after your Brompton, from rear-wheel removal and replacement, to gear issues, brakes, chains, and accessories.
As with many of our other classes, the session starts at 10am on a Saturday (unless otherwise specified), and takes place in our Greenford workshop. In fact, our workshop is just down the road from the Brompton factory in Greenford.
For 2018, we have our first course on a Sunday (the 28th of January, 3pm to 8pm) before we revert to our traditional 10am start time on the following Saturdays – March the 10th, May the 26th, July the 14th, September the 29th, and November the 10th.
The price is a very competitive £50, which explains why places go rather quickly.
Like all our courses, the Brompton one is very hands-on – you will be working on your own bike. If you don’t yet own a Brompton and can’t afford to buy brand new or face online auction sites, then we highly recommend www.welovebromptons.co.uk who refurbish and resell them.
Please note – we’re now asking people to pay a deposit of £20 (which counts towards the cost of the class) to secure their booking for the classes below, as we’re finding a number of people have been booking places and then not showing up, which is unfair on those others we have to turn away once a class is fully booked.
Payment of the deposit can be made by Paypal (to email@example.com), or via bank transfer to London Bike Hub, sort code 08-92-99, and account number 65441099. Please use your first initial and first few letters of your surname, along with the first few letters of the course title, as your payment reference. We can take the deposit as cash or a cheque as well, if you drop it by the workshop at least a couple of weeks ahead of the course. Cheques should be made payable to London Bike Hub, and either handed in, or posted through the front door in an envelope marked for the attention of Jon Marks at London Bike Hub.
