Schools

We have been working with schools for a long time now, so we’re experts on the special requirements and needs of both junior and senior schools.

We’ve not only worked with schools on an individual basis, we’ve also partnered with a number of London boroughs including Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow (and further afield, Windsor and Maidenhead).

Bikeability
We offer Bikeability lessons that can fit around the school day including after school, weekends and holiday sessions. Our instructors are DBS/CRB checked and trained to deliver to National Standards. We can provide certificates and badges.

Playground based level 1

After school clubs
These ever popular sessions follow a semi-structured programme of skills games, bike polo, maintenance and route planning. If possible we can organise trips from school or keep all activities to the playground. Children can normally obtain their level one Bikeability. We are happy to run a full programme or can work with staff and train them to carry on the club.

Bike breakfasts
What better way of encouraging children, parents and staff to cycle than with food! We arrive with suitable refreshments and can reward continued attendance by bike with increasing rewards. These sessions can also be run at the same time as a Dr Bike.

Pool bikes
We have supplied bikes to schools from year 1 up to 14 and to staff. We can just supply bikes but also offer a number of servicing options to keep the bike in good working order.

Assemblies/workshops
Using our pedal powered generators, smoothie makers and other equipment we can engage a whole class and more into the world of bikes. We also run bling-your-bike workshops where children can customise their bikes and learn some bike maintenance at the same time.

Dr Bikes
Either as stand alone option or run in-conjunction with other activities such as sports day, we can provide mechanics to undertake basic safety checks to more detailed servicing.

Classroom activities
We have a unique offering to engage years four, five and six based in the classroom and engaging the entire class rather than just those with bikes. From one-off lessons to several consecutive sessions we can get children to design their own cycle clothing, bikes and learn about the history of cycling and what makes a bike a bike. We also run art & design lessons making jewellery from bike parts, zeotropes and belts from old tyres.
